The Time Capsule Wardrobe: Bottoms
Alright guys, here’s part two of the building basics series. Today is all about bottoms! Which bottoms should you have in your closet for a time capsule wardrobe? – I’ve picked out what I feel are some essentials below.
A great pair of white pants goes a long way. I personally have a pair of white jeans that I love, and that are so comfortable. No, it doesn’t need to be a pair of white jeans, but white dress pants are a great option or a flowy pair with a draw string are also very classic. I’m not a fan of white pants in the winter, but for the summer these are definitely an essential!
Where on earth would I be without my black jeans? Seriously though. I LIVE in my black jeans, and they definitely get worn the most out of any article of clothing that I have. Grab yourself a comfortable pair of black jeans and you will rock them until they start falling apart. My favourite pair are these, but I’ve listed other options below.
Blue jeans are another key piece worth investing in. Yes there will always be different trends going on with jeans, but a plain classic pair of blue jeans will be your friend forever. Make sure you get one pair that is comfortable and classic and you wont regret it.
An essential for work! I personally love a high waisted pair of dress pants that flow. There are a lot of amazing options out there, but sticking with a classic colour like black or grey will keep your closet happy for many years.
Yes, obviously leggings! Every girl needs a good pair of black leggings, they are essential for lounging, working out, running errands – you name it!
I have two pairs of black shorts ( oops ), but it’s because I get the most use out of them! I have a ripped pair, and a classic pair, and I absolutely love them. There are a lot of great dressier options as well which would be perfect for work or a night out.
Just like long jeans, jean shorts are an essential too. You need a comfortable pair, and you can literally rock them with anything in the summer or on a beach vacay.
Another great piece for work or whatever else! Tuck a nice blouse into a pencil skirt and you’re work ready, or wear a fitted lacey top and you’re date night ready. I definitely love a classic pencil skirt.
A neutral skirt is a great option for the warmer months. I wouldn’t wear something ivory or white in the winter, but in the summer I’m all for it. Pair it up with a neutral top and you have a perfect monochrome polished look.
