You guys are in for a real treat with this post… literally. Kyle’s birthday just passed and he’s not a huge dessert lover – other than cheesecake of course, so I decided to have some fun with the topping. In the past I have made a cheesecake from scratch and it is SO much work, so I thought I would cut corners a little bit and buy a pre made plain cheesecake and make the topping myself. Since Kyle is obsessed with peanut butter I decided to do a chocolate peanut butter mix for the topper.
I used Reese’s chocolate, turtles, suckers butterscotch and of course peanut butter! The cheesecake I got at the grocery store and it’s just a regular New York style cheesecake.
The first thing I did was cut up the Reese’s and the spread it evenly over the cheesecake.
Next I chopped up some of the turtles and added them to the topping as well.
Once the cheesecake was full of chocolatey goodness I drizzled butterscotch sauce all over.
Lastly, I melted peanut butter in the frying pan and drizzled that on top as well.
After I put it together I left it in the fridge for a few hours until it was ready to be served. I really love how this dessert turned out, it was so good! Check out my quick video below to see how I made it!
